Mel was like no other of his kind. I will especially miss his last year when he couldn't see that well and would kind of crash into my legs after barreling across the room at me. I will always remember the walk we took together one summer hiatus day. He kept looking back at me annoyed that I wasn't giving him enough slack on the leash. I loved that guy.
